Etherscan
Etherscan is an Ethereum block explorer for checking transactions, addresses, tokens, contracts, and token approvals.
Etherscan is a public window into Ethereum activity. It lets users look up transactions, wallet addresses, token transfers, contracts, and token approvals.
Why Beginners Need It
When a DApp page is confusing, Etherscan can help you verify what actually happened on-chain. You can check whether a transaction succeeded, failed, is pending, or used gas.
What to Search
Start with three things: transaction hashes, wallet addresses, and token approvals. A transaction page shows status and gas usage. An address page shows history. The approvals page helps identify contracts that can spend your tokens.
Important Limitation
Seeing a contract on Etherscan does not prove it is safe. A block explorer displays data; it is not a security audit or an investment recommendation.
