Points program

Grass · Bandwidth points

Run the official client to share idle bandwidth. Stage 2 has ended and settled in USDC, claimable until January 22, 2027; rewards for joining now are unannounced.

What is the project, and how can you take part?

Status as of October 2026: Stage 2 ended on June 8, 2026 (Epochs 1–19). Its rewards are paid entirely in USDC, and the claim window is open until January 22, 2027. Running the client now does not count toward Stage 2, and Grass has not announced how participation after June 8 will be rewarded.

Grass participation involves running a client that provides spare bandwidth. Unlike a series of onchain tasks, the starting point is understanding the resources your device contributes, then checking connection and contribution records in the dashboard.

Uptime Points track availability; Network Points relate to bandwidth actually used. Read them separately: being available and serving demand are different outcomes.

A good starting point if

You control spare hardware and a network, and can review its operation.

Think it through first

Assess costs first if data is metered, browsing is affected or new hardware is needed.

What it takes

01

Bandwidth and data

Data limits and network terms

What to consider

Check data caps, excess charges and restrictions on sharing. Watch for effects on calls and everyday browsing. An increasing point balance does not remove a real data charge.

02

Power and equipment

Added uptime and power bills

What to consider

Separate a device already running from extra hours added for Grass. A rough added power cost is extra watts / 1000 × hours × price per kWh. Add hardware and maintenance separately; this estimates costs, not returns.

03

Maintenance time

Regular connection and points checks

What to consider

Allow time for client updates and account checks. Note your start date, device and network changes so that troubleshooting does not become repeated reinstallations or new accounts.

Before you start: a short checklist
  • A supported device and a network you may share.
  • Review sharing permissions, privacy and geographic eligibility.
  • Avoid multiple clients on the same connection to try to multiply rewards.

How to participate, step by step

  1. Choose an official client

Use the download page for your device.

    Read step instructions
  2. Check the connection

Enable sharing only after reviewing its scope, then check the dashboard.

    Read step instructions
  3. Read both point totals

Separate connection problems from a lack of network demand before troubleshooting.

Reward rules and eligibility

Stage 2 (Epochs 1–19, October 14, 2024 to June 8, 2026) has ended. Rewards are paid entirely in USDC with no new GRASS issued; claims opened on July 22, 2026 and close on January 22, 2027, after which unclaimed rewards are retained by Grass. Grass has not announced how participation after June 8 will be rewarded. No per-point value or daily return is estimated here.

How can you check your records after completing tasks?
Check the connection
Confirm the correct account and a working connection. Use the official troubleshooting guide if network quality is abnormal; a low point total is not a reason by itself to add hardware.
Read the two balances separately
Network Points depend on bandwidth demand and appear after calculation. Increasing uptime with zero network points can reflect demand or timing. Check the reporting date first.
Check claim eligibility separately
Track points separately from rewards actually received. For any claim announcement, verify the period, account and address. Joining now does not establish eligibility for a past period.

Common participation questions

Can I still earn Stage 2 rewards if I join Grass now?

No. Stage 2 counts only participants who earned Network Points between October 14, 2024 and June 8, 2026 (Epochs 1–19); running the client now is not added to it. As of October 2026, Grass has not announced whether participation after June 8 will be rewarded, or in what asset.

Where do I claim Stage 2 rewards, and when is the deadline?

In the official Grass dashboard. Claims opened on July 22, 2026 and close on January 22, 2027; unclaimed rewards are retained by Grass. Rewards are paid entirely in USDC, not GRASS tokens. Claim only after signing in through the official site: claim links sent by DM, in group chats or through search ads are usually phishing.

How was the Stage 2 USDC amount calculated?

Grass converted two kinds of points: Network Points at 0.0049 USDC each, with a 5x multiplier for the desktop client and 10x for Android, and Uptime Points at 0.00000007 USDC each, with 2x for desktop and 3x for Android. These rates applied to the Stage 2 settlement only and say nothing about what points are worth now or later.

Why am I online without Network Points?

Availability alone does not establish bandwidth usage. Check uptime, network quality and the reporting date. If uptime is normal, a temporarily unchanged Network Points balance is not by itself a reason to reinstall.

Should I run the desktop client and extension together?

The official troubleshooting guide advises avoiding conflicts between simultaneous clients. Keep one connection method and observe its status; more clients do not establish proportionally more rewards.

How can I decide whether to keep Grass running?

Review added electricity, data and maintenance against rewards actually received over a consistent period. List unredeemed points separately instead of assigning an assumed cash value. Pause and reassess if everyday use is affected or costs exceed your limit.
