Binance USD1 Airdrop, October 2026: Eligibility, Reward Maths and Excluded Regions
From October 2, 2026, Binance is running its USD1 airdrop again: eligible users holding USD1 on Binance receive weekly WLFI rewards. The headline is simple; the details decide what you get: which accounts count, why balances use the lowest snapshot of each day, how borrowed USD1 is treated, and which regions are excluded. This guide goes through Binance's announcement point by point.

The campaign at a glance

USD1 is World Liberty Financial's dollar stablecoin and WLFI is World Liberty Financial's token. In effect: hold USD1, receive WLFI worth a variable annual rate, once a week.
Which balances count
For Stage 1 the announcement lists four account types:
- Spot account;
- Funding account;
- Margin account, with USD1 as collateral in cross, isolated or Portfolio Margin;
- USDⓈ-M Futures account, with USD1 as collateral, including Multi-Assets mode.
Earn products are not among the listed categories, and broker accounts are explicitly excluded. Check the latest version of the announcement for any change.
How rewards are calculated
- Daily qualifying balance: Binance snapshots your balance at a random time each hour and uses the lowest of the day. At each snapshot, a supported asset must exceed 0.01 USD1 to count.
- Weekly reward = 7-day average qualifying balance × effective APR on the distribution day × 7 ÷ 365.
The effective APR is not fixed. Binance updates it in the announcement after each distribution, taking into account total qualifying balances across holders, daily lowest snapshots and other factors. You can only estimate from APRs already published.
An illustration only: holding 1,000 USD1 in Spot for the whole week at an effective APR of 5% gives about 1,000 × 5% × 7 ÷ 365 ≈ $0.96 worth of WLFI. The announcement's own examples use 20% purely for illustration.
Details that cost people rewards
- The lowest snapshot wins. Deposit USD1 at noon and the earlier snapshots that day read zero, so the day counts as zero. Moving funds out and back also drags the day down. To earn a full day, have the balance in place before 00:00 UTC and leave it.
- WLFI is priced the day before payout. The amount of WLFI is set using Binance's official closing price the day before distribution. After that, WLFI's price keeps moving, so the dollar value you end up with can rise or fall.
- Timing is not guaranteed. Distribution times may change, rewards are rounded down to two decimal places, and sub-account rewards go to each sub-account's Spot account.
- Binance can change the rules at any time, including cancelling, extending or ending the campaign. Re-read the announcement before and during participation.
What the 1.2x boost requires
USD1 in Margin or Futures accounts earns 1.2x rewards only if your daily open interest on USD1 futures pairs is at least 300 USD1. Open interest is also snapshotted hourly, using the day's lowest value. Any day below 300 USD1 earns 1x.
So the boost means keeping a futures position open, with price risk, funding payments, trading fees and liquidation risk. For someone after a modest stablecoin reward, the extra 0.2x rarely justifies opening futures.
How borrowed USD1 is treated
- Borrowed USD1 does not count. Qualifying balance is net assets, assets minus liabilities. USD1 borrowed through VIP loans or Margin is a liability and is excluded.
- USD1 bought with other borrowed stablecoins takes a 70% haircut. If you borrow USDT, USDC, U, RLUSD or FDUSD in Margin and convert it to USD1, only 30% of the leveraged part counts.
The announcement's example: 1,000 USD1 in Margin used to borrow 4,000 USDT, all converted to USD1, for 5,000 USD1 in total. Qualifying balance = 1,000 + 4,000 × 30% = 2,200 USD1. Only three tenths of the leverage counts, while you still pay interest and carry liquidation risk.
Excluded regions
Users must complete KYC and be from an eligible jurisdiction. Residents of the following cannot take part, even if they hold USD1:
- the United States and its territories, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan;
- most of the European Economic Area: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland (including the Åland Islands), France (including French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion and Saint Martin), Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden;
- the Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey, the Isle of Man;
- Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Binance says the list is not exhaustive and may change with local rules. The announcement also notes MiCA restrictions on unauthorised stablecoins for EEA users. Whether your account can use these services is decided by Binance's terms and your verification, and local law still applies.
Is it worth it?
Treat it as "hold USD1, receive a variable WLFI reward" and count at least:
- the spread and fees of converting into USD1 and back out afterwards; see Binance fees explained;
- an APR that changes every period, and a campaign that can change any time;
- rewards paid in WLFI, whose price moves after you receive it;
- the issuer and depeg risk every stablecoin carries; see what is a stablecoin.
